Scarlett Chested Parrots

I have had another single female baby at the end of last year but thing have been a little quite since I lost my older female a few months ago. I have also separated my other breeding female at the moment as she has lost a lot of feathers which always seems to occurs at least a little around breeding season. I will introduce her back into the cage in a few weeks when she has grow back some feathers and the weather is a little warmer.

  1. hi you could be losing feathers due to the small nesting box the pair can somethimes fight if the box is too small try using a cockateil box or an L shaped parrot box

  2. Thanks for the feed back, I'm using now a larger box but my females still lose a lot of feather around breeding time, what is more unusal is that I have no males at the moment but they still lose feathers. Scarlet Chested Parrots females only.
