Green Cheeked Conure - Chicks progress

The Green Cheeked Conure chicks are feathering up well. They are lot more active when I take them out to clean the box - flapping wings, climbing the wire wall of the aviary and biting (I suspect because they have not been handled as much as my Indian Ring Necks were).

  1. When catching the larger birds, a travel parrot cage is taken into the aviary and the bird is transferred from the net. The temptation to transport birds in the net must be resisted as accidents can very easily happen and one can easily let go of the top of the net, allowing the bird to escape.
